Easley Barton is a exoneree who was wrongly convicted for the murder of Mr. Kelly and was a reoccurring character in the ABC series For Life
Biography[]
Easley was seen in the background of a few episodes, but was the main focus of "Buried". In the episode Aaron along with Henry Roswell represented his case to get a retrial. The case happened twenty three years before the events of "Buried" when Glen Maskins was an assistant district attorney and Billy Sprite were interrogating Barton on the crime. Easley and another man named Carlos was charged with the murder of Mr. Kelly and the assault of Anna Fernandez. Both men were sentenced to life in prison and Carlos, whose knife was stolen and was declared the weapon of the crime because of it's distinct marks, committed suicide years after the case.
Henry Roswell went to the house of Billy Sprite, who sent him a letter years before about how he had doubts about the Easley Barton case. Roswell was a drunk back when the letter was sent and didn't get back to him until a few years after Sprite's death. Sprite's wife answered the door and gave them the tape of his interrogation. They were granted a retrial and when they revealed another murder that was similar to the Barton case that happened after Easley's arrest and Carlos' suicide, Easley was exonerated after spending twenty three years in prison
