Biography[]
Julie Tanaka is the judge in the case of Jose Rodriguez, who was wrongfully convicted six years prior for buying drugs for his girlfriend who then nearly died in an overdose.
She is shown to be easily manipulated by other figures of authority as she believes the story that the prison transport driver told her about Aaron Wallace, Jose's lawyer and fellow prisoner, about how he riled up the prisoners on the bus and caused the driver to change routes. The prosecutor, Dez O'Reilly, and the captain of an officer who was at the scene of the crime where the suicide note of Molly Davison was before it went missing, told her that the officer could not make it to court without evidence she believes them.
After Aaron forged a copy of the suicide note that Molly wrote and got her to testify in court where she says she lied about Jose buying the drugs, Julie then exonerated Jose on all charges and he was released.
